Arethusa Free VPN Service

Arethusa free anonymous VPN service is provided by s6n.org. S6N.org is a non-profit international organization, funded in 2003. Their goals are to protect privacy and freedom of speech, to help the distribution of knowledge and culture.
Arethusa has both premium and free VPN service. The steps to get an Arethusa VPN account are as these:
1. Register a Billing Account:
You still need to register a billing account even if you only use the free VPN service. The register address is Here. Be sure to write down your login info because they don’t send any email to your email box.

2. Add a VPN Tunnel:
After you creating your billing account, You can log in your billing account at https://manage.s6n.org/accounts/login/?next=/tunnels/. As the screenshot below.

After you have signed in, you can create a VPN account then. Click on “Add” and enter your VPN account password. the password must be 10 letters at least. After that you will get your VPN tunnel(account) username – such as t****.
3. Download Arethusa VPN Config Files:
Only Open VPN connection is allowed for the free service. You need to download two files from Arethusa and save to your computer.

Open the OpenVPN configuration directory (Start -> Programs -> OpenVPN -> Shortcuts -> OpenVPN configuration file directory) and copy the CA and Config files into that directory. If you don’t have OpenVPN 2.1, you need to install it. You can download OpenVPN from http://s6n.org/arethusa/.
4. Using Arethusa Free VPN
After installing Openvpn and downloading the Arethusa VPN config files, start OpenVPN and the program will be minimise on your system tray. Right click on the icon and click on “Connect”. Enter the tunnel username and password and click “Ok”.

Open your browser, type http://www.google.com into address bar, if it display a Spanish version of Google that means VPN works fine, because Arethusa VPN server is in Spain. Enjoying this free VPN!

There is an Update on Arethusa Free VPN. Now you don’t need to sign up an account with Arethusa and you can use their free VPN service
