Another great feature with AirVPN is that AirVPN allows you to do remote port forwarding. Without port forwarding, the performance of some applications, for example BitTorrent and eMule clients, would be severely impaired and the services on your computer would not be reachable from the Internet.
AirVPN has 3 access plans as you can see in the illustration below:
I suggest you register an account and try their free member VPN plan before you make an order. You should better write down your username and password for further use. Please visit www.airvpn.org to register an account.
AirVPN uses OpenVPN to establish the security connection. It works on Windows, Linux/Ubuntu, Mac OSX and Android platforms. If you are on a Windows operating system and OpenVPN is not installed on your computer, you can download AirVPN client and install it. After launch the AirVPN client, select “Member Access” and enter username and password of your account, and then login.
Some of you have read my early post “Free OpenVPN Service Provided By Freeopenvpn.com” and have OpenVPN Portable on your computer, then you don’t need to download the AirVPN client software. You will only need to generate an OpenVPN configuration file and download this configuration file. Here are the steps:
1. Login your AirVPN account after your register.
2. Hover your mouse over the “Member” tab and select “Access without our client”.
3. You will have 6 options to select, click on your favourite option. If you are in doubt, just choose 443 UDP.
4. Accept the AirVPN terms of service and start downloading the configuration file.
5. Unzip the configuration files you downloaded from AirVPN.org to your OpenVPN Portable config folder. e.g. D:\OpenVPNPortable\data\config\airVPN.
6. Launch OpenVPN Portable and connect to AirVPN Server.
Enjoy the air to breathe the real Internet, with AirVPN!
