1. LibreVPN provides files needed to setup OpenVPN on Android. First download the files to your Android device. The download link is http://adf.ly/2gNi1.
2. Extract the downloaded package you’ll see two folders. One is “apps needed” and the other is “VPN2GO”.
Files in “apps needed” folders are:
BusyBox_installer_v3.4.1.apk
easytether.v0.9.3.apk
OpenVPN-Installer-0.2.3.apk
OpenVPN-Settings-0.4.7.apk
Root Explorer v2.16.apk
Terminal_Emulator_v1.0.21.apk
The “VPN2GO” is a folder contains LibreVPN OpenVPN config files.
3. How to install .apk files on Android? You can watch this Youtube video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UOAw124y1s.
4. Run “BusyBox_installer_v3.4.1.apk”. BusyBox should say “Your phone is rooted”. You need to install BusyBox to /system/xbin/.
Now we need install OpenVPN Installer and OpenVPN Settings by running “OpenVPN-Installer-0.2.3.apk” and “OpenVPN-Settings-0.4.7.apk”. I recommend install OpenVPN to /system/xbin.
5. Make a folder in your SDCARD and name it /sdcard/openvpn.
6. Save the VPN2GO config files onto the /sdcard/openvpn folder.
7. Open “OpenVPN Settings” again, press Menu button and tap on “Advanced” option. Change the preferences like what is shown on the picture below.
If the files were copied successfully, you will see your account number on the main window of “OpenVPN Settings” application.
8. In the “OpenVPN Settings” window, now check first option to run OpenVPN and second option to connect to OpenVPN server.
In my example, I install BusyBox from file provided by LibreVPN. You can try to install BusyBox, OpenVPN Installer and OpenVPN Settings from Android Market. StrongVPN has a step by step guides, please Click Here.
The username of LibreVPN is “user1″, “user2″, “user3″,…”user15″ (without quotes) . Username and password are the same.
Update: On Oct 21,2011, LibreVPN change their username to “Free1″, “Free2″, …,”Free10″. You need to visit their homepage to download new LibreVPN config files.
